Using Google Adsense is an excellent way to benefit from your website traffic.

Once you've done the work of building your website pages to market your local business, Google gives you an extra way to earn income from those pages too.

When you use Adsense on your site, Google will show targeted ads from their own Google Adwords program on your pages, based on your page content and keyword selection, and their available ads. (The Adwords program is for pay-per-click advertisers.)

Using Adsense can help you to earn additional revenue from your site, by showing targeted Google ads., to your site visitors. Google will pay you a percentage of their revenue for "clicked ads".

Of course, you cannot draw attention to the ads. on your site in any way, to encourage visitors to click on them. But just having them available will give people the opportunity to explore other sites with similar content, if they choose, and give you the chance to earn some additional revenue. The Adsense program is free to join, but Google has to approve your site for inclusion in the program.

When your site has been reviewed, Google will notify you by e-mail.

If your application is accepted, you will be able to login into your Adsense account and get the Adsense code to add to your website.

Once the Adsense code is "live" on your pages, you'll see the Google advertisements shown on your site.

Just a cautionary note too: when you're approved for Adsense, please do not click on the ads on your own site, or encourage others to do so. Doing this can get your site disqualified from the Adsense program!
